Knoxville's First Dance-Focused Radio Station Is Here!

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – There's a new pulse in Knoxville, and it's bringing a sound unlike anything else in the market!

At 8:00 AM on Monday, October 19, 2026, B106 East Tennessee officially signed off and made way for Pulse865, Knoxville's Home for Hits & Dance, a brand new, dance-focused radio station bringing the biggest names in pop, dance-pop, house, and electronic dance music together under one roof.

From Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, and KATSEYE to John Summit, Dom Dolla, Mau P, and Calvin Harris, Pulse865 is bringing a fresh, high energy sound to Knoxville and East Tennessee.

Something Knoxville Has Been Missing

Knoxville has no shortage of radio stations. From country and classic rock to mainstream pop and hip-hop, the market is already home to a wide variety of formats. But we believed one major piece was missing: a station that puts dance music front and center.

With the University of Tennessee, a growing young adult population, and an expanding downtown nightlife and entertainment scene, Knoxville is a city with plenty of energy. We wanted to create a station that reflects that.

Pulse865 isn't just another Top 40 station. While you'll still hear the biggest pop hits, dance music is at the heart of everything we do. We're bringing together familiar favorites, club-inspired tracks, dance remixes, and emerging electronic hits that traditional radio often overlooks.

Our goal is simple: Give Knoxville something different. Something upbeat. Something that keeps the city moving.

Not Your Traditional Radio Station

There's one major difference between Pulse865 and the stations you might be used to hearing: We don't have an FM frequency, and that's by design... and it was expensive.

Instead of being limited by a traditional radio signal, Pulse865 is built for the way people listen today.

Whether you're driving around Knoxville, studying on campus, working out, hanging out with friends, or getting ready for a night downtown, Pulse865 is already wherever you are.

Your phone? Absolutely. Your smart speaker? You bet. Your refrigerator? If it can stream music, we won't judge.

Listeners can tune in anytime through the iHeartRadio app, Pulse865.com, or the dedicated Pulse865 app, enjoying a high-quality digital stream wherever an internet connection is available.

No frequencies to remember. No static. Just hits and dance, around the clock.

More Than Just Music

While the music is the centerpiece, Pulse865 is also building a station with personality.

With hosted programming throughout the day, specialty dance shows, DJ mixes, and local weather and information, we're combining the personality of traditional radio with the freedom of a digital-first station.

Our programming is designed primarily for college students, young professionals, and adults who want something more energetic than the usual radio lineup. But whether you're 21 or 51, if you love upbeat music, there's a place for you here.

We want Pulse865 to become Knoxville's destination for dance music, not just on weekend nights, but every day of the week.

Here's How We Kicked Things Off

At exactly 8:00 AM on October 19, Pulse865 officially hit the airwaves, or rather, the streams, with John Summit and CLOVES' Focus leading the way.

A New Sound for the 865

B106 East Tennessee helped lay the foundation for what Pulse865 has become, but this new chapter is about creating something with a stronger identity, a more focused sound, and a deeper connection to Knoxville.

We're excited to bring something new to the market, introduce listeners to music they might not hear anywhere else locally, and give dance music a dedicated home in East Tennessee.

Knoxville, you've got a new pulse. And we're just getting started.
